Get a smartphone, but throw away third-party apps
If you have an iPhone, scanning is easy with the pre-installed Notes app. Method is as follows.
- Open the Notes app. Click an icon similar to the one below to create a new note. Square with pen Located in the lower right corner of the screen.
- Tap Camera icon Select at the bottom of the new note Scan the document..
- Hold your smartphone over the document you want to scan. If set to automatic, the app will detect and scan the document. In manual mode, you need to take a picture. You can switch modes at the top right of the screen.
- Tap Photo shutter button Complete the scan at the bottom of the screen.
- After shooting, you can edit the image by dragging the corners of the page.When you’re done, tap save It’s at the bottom right of the screen. The file is saved as a PDF. You can then email or message the scan directly from within Notes.

On Android, use Google Drive to complete your work. If you are a Gmail user, this must already be installed.
- Open the Google Drive app.Tap Plus button Located in the lower right corner.
- Tap scan Allow access to the camera if you haven’t already done so.
- Take a picture of the document you want to scan.hit NS Try again or check mark To confirm.
- From there, you can trim, rotate, or convert to black and white.strike save when finished.
- Add a file name and select a folder to save.select save also.
What if I need to sign the document? It’s worth the time to upload a nice digital signature. Tap or click here to go to number 4 and see the steps to do it the old-fashioned way. Use a pen and paper.
Or skip the call altogether
Let’s face it. It’s a hassle to take a photo, crop it, email it to yourself, then upload it or attach it to another email. There are too many steps!
If you need photos on your computer, skip the call and use your webcam. The good news is that even a decent webcam is enough to scan a document for you.

If you want it to last, make sure you are giving these tests to your technique
For Mac:
- Open a photo booth.. The webcam will open automatically.
- Place the document in front of the webcam and line it up on the screen.

For Windows PC:
- Open the camera app..
