Australian artist Sam Fischer 'avoids writing songs about loneliness and helplessness' - Sky News Australia

Sky News host Paul Murray says the rise of Australian artist Sam Fischer was “a great story” about a regional-based bloke “who had been able to take his talents all the way to Los Angeles to sign with a massive label like Sony”. Speaking of the coronavirus induced lockdown, Australian artist Sam Fischer said he has appreciated the “busyness” of life as an up and coming musical icon. He said while he “would have loved to go on tour… all artists are in the same position" and he was "just grateful to have these opportunities”. “I have been sent a world of technology from the label, they sent me a camera and I have a full recording set up so I’m able to continue to create”. Mr Fischer said he was “not really trying to write about what is going on right now because he doesn't want to keep reminding everyone this is what we are going through”. Mr Murray said he “had a feeling that every movie, every book and every song was going to be about claustrophobia, loneliness, frustration and helplessness” so it could be a good idea write something different.
