States, territories announce response to new Qld case
As I mentioned before, Queensland authorities are racing to contact trace after a Brisbane doctor tested positive to COVID-19 on Friday. In case you missed it, the following locations have been labelled 'high-risk':
-
The Morning After Café at West End on Thursday between 14:00 and 15:15
-
The Corporate Box Gym at Greenslopes on Thursday between 17:45 and 19:00
-
The Stones Corner Hotel at Stones Corner on Thursday between 19:00 and 19:45
Now, other states and territories are announcing their responses to this development.
Victoria says anyone who visited those locations during those times is being treated as a close contact, and will be required to quarantine for 14 days.
Anyone in Victoria who visited the McDonald's Restaurant at Coorparoo between 3:10am and 3:20am on March 11 (a location classified as low-risk) is being asked to contact the health department and isolate until they receive a negative test result.
“Under Victoria’s Travel Permit System, areas of Brisbane may be re-designated as red or orange zones by Victoria’s Chief Health Officer as further information emerges,” the health department said yesterday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the NT has warned Brisbane could be declared a coronavirus hotspot. Doctor Hugh Heggie says the Territory is taking a "watch and wait" approach, but that anyone planning travel to or from Brisbane should reconsider, as a hotspot may be declared if more cases are detected.
He said anyone who visited the above locations must self-isolate and get a COVID test.
