An emergency department at a hospital in Melbourne’s northwest is at the centre of a new COVID-19 outbreak.
Two healthcare workers at Northern Hospital emergency department in Epping have tested positive for the virus.

All emergency department staff will now be tested as a precaution.
Victoria’s Department of Health said contact tracing of staff and patients is underway.
The two workers wore appropriate personal protective equipment during patient interactions while on shift, the department said.
A Melbourne childcare centre was also forced to shut down following a positive coronavirus case.
Contact tracing is underway at The Hive Early Learning Centre in Fairfield after a child, who had attended the facility, tested positive.
Outbreak in numbers
Sixty-six new COVID-19 cases were recorded on Friday, taking the state’s total to 2,368.
Of the fresh cases, 17 are linked to outbreaks, 20 have been detected through routine testing, one is in hotel quarantine and 28 are under investigation.
Twenty-three people with the virus are in hospital, with six in intensive care.
More than 880,000 COVID-19 tests have been done in the state since the start of the year, with 24,430 tests conducted on Thursday alone.
Of the total tests done, more than 164,00 were conducted under a suburban testing blitz which started on June 25, Health Minister Jenny Mikakos said.
