They include two restaurants in Sydney's east and a sports club in south-western Sydney, all due to be deep cleaned while contact tracing is carried out.
The cases have left NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian "extremely concerned".
"It only takes one or two cases to create a ripple effect," Ms Berejiklian told Today.
"You think what you or your friends might have done in the last 14 days and all the places you might have gone through, (that) is what each health detective are identifying."
Residents in Potts Point and Mount Pritchard are being urged to "modify their activity to reduce their mobility".
"It will reduce and allow us to control the spread, allows us to make sure that we are not having any undetected cases that can quickly get out of control."
Mounties at Mount Pritchard has advised some of its customers to self-isolate immediately after an asymptomatic member tested positive for COVID-19.
In a statement, the club confirmed the member attended the venue on July 22 and July 24 before receiving the positive test result.
"The club has provided the contact details of any patrons and staff that were on the premises during this time to NSW Health, who will be contacting staff and members who they believe to be at risk," a statement said.
"Mounties Group has already contacted these individuals via email in an effort to reduce the potential of any further transmission asking them to self-isolate until they receive further clarification from NSW Health.
"The health and wellbeing of Mounties members and guests is always our highest priority and all our venues including Mounties comply with NSW government measures in order to be a COVID safe venue."
It follows an earlier confirmed case at the nearby Pritchard's Hotel, believed to be the same infected patron who visited Mounties.
NSW Health is alerting anyone who attended the on July 23 between 7pm to 7.45pm that they should get tested if they have any symptoms of COVID-19.
In Potts Point, The Apollo restaurant is closed after two new coronavirus cases were confirmed. One of the cases is believed to be a staff member.
Overnight, NSW Health began contacting everyone who attended The Apollo from Thursday 23 to Saturday 25 July and asking them to quarantine for 14 days after their visit.
Any diners who develop symptoms should be tested.
The health department has issued a warning that anyone who attended the venue for more than two hours between Wednesday July 15 and Saturday July 25 needs to immediately self-isolate for 14 days and get tested.
It follows another confirmed case of the virus, an infected diner, who developed COVID-19 after eating there on Friday July 17.
NSW Health is also asking all people who live in or have visited the Potts Point area in the past two weeks to get tested if they have any symptoms of COVID-19.
