A nursing home in Sydney’s west is in lockdown after an employee contracted coronavirus at the Thai Rock restaurant.
Ashfield Baptist Homes on Wednesday confirmed a staff member had returned a positive result for COVID-19.

New South Wales Health’s contact tracing team identified the staffer as being a potential close contact of an infectious diner at the restaurant on July 12.
They sought testing and on Wednesday returned a positive result.
All of the staff member’s colleagues and all residents will now be tested for coronavirus by Sydney Local Health District.
However, NSW Health has moved swiftly to advise the risk to other staff and residents is “very low”.
This is, it says, because the staff member wore masks, gloves and gowns when working with residents and did not attend work while symptomatic.
Ashfield Baptist Homes is, as a precaution, implementing additional safety measures.
That includes closing the facility to all visitors.
“Nothing is more important to us than the care and wellbeing of our residents and staff.,” Ashfield Baptist Homes said in a statement.
“We appreciate this is an extremely difficult and worrying situation for all concerned in particular the residents themselves, staff and families.
“Our thoughts are with all involved.”
