LATEST COVID-19 DEVELOPMENTS:

* Some of Australia's largest states have brought forward the easing of major COVID-19 restrictions, as vaccination rates continue to climb.

* The ACT is pushing to get more of Canberra's Indigenous population vaccinated, with culturally safe pop-up vaccine clinics and reachable testing set up in Canberra to help boost the vaccination rate.

* Unlimited visitors, dancing in nightclubs and full stadiums are on the cards for most people in NSW next week as the state approaches 95 per cent fully vaccinated.

AUSTRALIAN VACCINATION NUMBERS:

* There have been 35,902,046 doses administered in the national COVID-19 vaccination rollout up to Tuesday, including 186,315 in the previous 24 hours.

* Of the total, 21,096,638 have been administered by the Commonwealth (an increase of 129,971 in the previous 24 hours).

* 14,805,408 have been administered by the states and territories, including 56,344 in the previous 24 hours.

* Nationwide, 88.5 per cent of the population over 16 years of age have had at least their first dose, and 78.1 per cent are doubly dosed.

AUSTRALIAN CORONAVIRUS NUMBERS:

* Australia reported 1170 local cases on Monday: 989 in Victoria, 173 in NSW and eight in the ACT.

* There were no overseas-acquired infections.

* The national death toll is 1754: Victoria 1136 (+9), NSW 577 (+4), Tasmania 13, ACT 10, WA 9, Queensland 7 and SA 4. Two Queensland residents who died in NSW have been included in the official tolls of both states.

GLOBAL CORONAVIRUS NUMBERS:

* Cases: at least 247,129,700.

* Deaths: at least 5,005,600.

* Vaccine doses administered: at least 7,083,377,200.
