Queenslanders told to rethink going to Vic - Boorowa News

Queenslanders have been told to reconsider travel to Victoria after a man tested positive for coronavirus.

The man completed a stint in hotel quarantine in South Australia last Tuesday when he boarded a flight and returned to his home in suburban Melbourne.

He developed coronavirus symptoms on Saturday and later returned a positive result.

South Australia and Victoria are working to determine the source of his infection but Victorian authorities believe it happened during his two weeks in hotel quarantine in South Australia.

Queensland Health has urged Queenslanders "to reconsider travel to Victoria".

It has also issued quarantine advice for anyone who was at six exposure sites in Victoria at specific times.

"If you have been to an exposure site and are already in Queensland or will enter Queensland prior to 1am Thursday 13 May, you must call 134 COVID and immediately travel by private transport home or to accommodation and quarantine for 14 days since you attended the venue," it said.

Anyone who arrives in Queensland after 1am on Thursday, and who has been to an exposure site during a risk period must enter mandatory hotel quarantine for 14 days.
