NSW records no new local virus cases, but four travellers positive - Geelong Advertiser

An additional case of COVID-19 linked to the Hoxton Park cluster in south west Sydney has been confirmed, the second child likely to have contracted the disease at an indoor trampoline park.

The child was at Flip Out Prestons Indoor Trampoline Park in Prestons at the same time as a previously reported positive case, also a child, on Sunday last week.

“So anyone who attended the trampoline park from 11am to 2pm is considered a close contact and must get tested immediately, and isolate for a full 14 days from when they were there, regardless of the test result,” NSW Health spokeswoman Dr Christine Selvey said.

“Additionally, anyone who attended after 2pm on the 25th of October is considered a casual contact and must monitor for symptoms and get tested immediately if symptoms do develop.

“After testing, they must remain in isolation until they receive a negative test result.”

NSW Health said the case was reported after 8pm on Saturday and would be reflected in Monday’s numbers.

It is the sixth case linked to the Hoxton Park cluster.

NSW recorded no new locally-acquired coronavirus cases in the 24 hours up to 8pm on Saturday, but four overseas travellers in hotel quarantine tested positive.

The diagnoses bring the total number of cases in NSW to 4236.

NSW Health is again calling for anyone who was at Jasmins1 Lebanese Restaurant in Liverpool, also in south west Sydney, from 2pm to 3.30pm on Sunday last week to immediately come forward for testing.

A case, first reported on October 28, attended the restaurant while infectious and although contact tracing is underway, details of some people who also attended on the afternoon of October 25 is not available, NSW Health says.

NSW Health is treating 73 positive cases, with one patient in intensive care who is being ventilated.

Dr Selvey urged anyone with even the mildest symptoms to get tested immediately, with more than 300 testing facilities across the state.

Due to heavy rain, Prestons drive-through COVID-19 clinic at Ash Road Sporting Complex is closed due to flooding.
