Another farm in the Hawkesbury region north west of Sydney has detected the bird flu virus.
The farm is within a biosecurity zone that was set up when the virus was first discovered at a nearby egg farm. A total of 330,000 birds across the two farms will have to be destroyed.
The NSW cases are a different strain to the cases in Victoria.
Authorities are also concerned about another bird flu strain that's killing penguins overseas, but has yet to arrive in Australia.
