Authorities at a primary school in the state’s south Southern Highlands have shut down the institution and forced students and staff into isolation as a person who attended the school waits for their COVID-19 result.
Moss Vale Public School will also undergo a deep clean while waiting for the result, after receiving advice from NSW Health.
“The school has been advised by NSW Health of a possible case of COVID-19. The person concerned is being tested and the results will be confirmed tomorrow,” a statement from the school, sent out on Thursday night, read.

“The school will be non-operational for the on-site attendance of staff and students tomorrow and will be thoroughly cleaned as an extra precaution while we await the test results.
“All staff and students are required to self-isolate until you receive further advice.”
The school said it is working closely with the health department and would update staff and students later on Friday.
Parents of students were not asked to self isolate.
NSW recorded no new local cases of coronavirus on Thursday.
