Eight new cases of coronavirus were recorded in New South Wales on Friday, out of more than 23,000 tests.
Of the new cases, seven are linked to known sources or clusters and one is a returned traveller in hotel quarantine.
Of the seven locally acquired cases, three are linked to the Sydney CBD cluster, taking the total number of cases in that outbreak to 57.
One of the new confirmed cases attended the New Brighton Golf Club in Moorebank while infectious on Friday, August 28.
Anyone who was at the club for more than two hours between 6.15pm and 12.30am on that day is considered a close contact of the case and is urged to self-isolate for 14 days and get tested for COVID-19.
Other patrons are considered casual contacts and are advised to monitor for symptoms.
Several other locations in Sydney have been put on alert, including:
- Aldi, North Strathfield - Tuesday, September 1, 10-10.30am
- Bunnings Warehouse, Padstow - Thursday August 27, 12-2pm
Anyone who visited these places is also urged to look out for symptoms of the virus.
A total of 3,910 cases of COVID-19 has been confirmed in NSW.
NSW Health is treating 87 cases of the virus, with seven in intensive care.
