Apex Legends Twitch Rivals STANDINGS and Tournament news - Express

Apex Legends couldn't have had a better start to life on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Not only has the new Battle Royale game built a solid fanbase but it's also been expanding in other areas too.

Apex Legends saw its first major eSports tournament kick off today, with the Twitch Rivals Challenge Championship receiving two runs.

"The Twitch Rivals: APEX Legends Challenge is an online competition for $100,000 featuring 16 teams comprised of 3 streamers each," the official description reads.

"The competition will be split between Europe and North America with each region vying for a total of $50,000. In each region, all teams will compete within a designated 4-hour time frame to determine who can earn the most points. Teams will be allowed unlimited attempts within the 4-hour time frame."

The first Twitch Rivals Challenge featured Apex Legends teams from the EU and has now been completed.

The final standings from today have confirmed that Team MANE finished in first place, followed by Team Nordics, POG Team, ZF and Team APEXTOSOS.

Team MANE consolidated the top spot with 12 wins, 339 kills and 399 points in total. They took home $8000 in prize money, with Team Nordics receiving $7000.

The prize money was awarded based on where teams finished, with everyone in the top eight receiving a slice of the total prize pool.

Teams earned points based on the following criteria: Wins = +5 points and Kills = +1 point.

As mentioned above, these teams were made up EU streamers, with another event currently ongoing, featuring those from North America.

APEX Legends Challenge (North America) is currently streaming on the official Twitch Rivals channel, which can be found above.

Apex Legends Challenge 2 will be broadcast on February 19 and offers another chance to watch Apex Legends eSports.

It follows news confirming the growing popularity of Apex Legends on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

According to the latest stats, the new Battle Royale experience set in Titanfall universe could be the next big thing.

"Since we launched Apex Legends last week on Monday we've seen the creation of an Apex Legends community that is excited, thriving, and full of great feedback and ideas. Our goal is to build this game with you, our community, so keep giving us your feedback because we really are listening," CEO Vince Zampella revealed.

"We're thrilled to announce that since last Monday, more than 25 million players have jumped into the game, and over the weekend we had well over 2 million concurrent players at our peak. Like I said earlier, what a week!

"From everyone here at Respawn, thank you. The community's excitement for Apex Legends is electric, and we feel it here at the studio. We couldn't have gotten where we are without you and look forward to having you on this journey with us.
