Coronavirus NSW: No new local cases reported, seven in quarantine - The Advertiser

NSW has begun a streak of no local coronavirus infections, although there were seven new cases in hotel quarantine.

NSW has reported no new locally acquired coronavirus infections, but seven in returned travellers in hotel quarantine.

The good news comes after just one case of locally transmitted COVID-19 was reported over the weekend. That case was a household contact of a confirmed case in Moss Vale and was included in Saturday’s numbers.

The original source of the Moss Vale cluster is still under investigation.

On Sunday, health officials urged people in the area surrounding the Sydney suburb of Rouse Hill to get tested if they feel symptoms.

Sewage in that area contained traces of the virus, according to an analysis of a catchment carrying waste from around 120,000 people.

That sewerage system drains from parts of the nearby areas of Quakers Hill, Castle Hill, Annangrove, Kellyville, Box Hill, Kenthurst, Glenhaven, The Ponds, Rouse Hill, North Kellyville, Kellyville Ridge, Beaumont Hills, Stanhope Gardens, Baulkham Hills, Glenwood, Bella Vista, Parklea, Acacia Gardens and Norwest.

Coronavirus data is reported by 24-hour periods ending at 8pm the night before each announcement.

NSW health workers have carried out more than 3.1 million COVID-19 tests since the start of the pandemic, and the overwhelming majority of those have been negative.
